About Embodied

Embodied began by us two sisters colliding while on our own separate health journeys. Nicki was obsessed with healing through supplements and food, while Lauren was equally obsessed with healing through working out and corrective exercise. After many years, much confusion, endless studying and experimentation with different protocols… both of our journeys led us to nervous system regulation.

Our goal? It’s simple… For people to wake up feeling inspired for life each day.

Embodied is about much more than being qualified as a physically healthy person. We weave together body, mind, and soul to have a deeper understanding of Self, this world, and what it means to be human. Through this understanding, we are able to access the expansive potential that life has to offer, while staying centered and open for it all. Embodied was built for those who desire to feel more deeply, reclaim their narrative in life, and reconnect with the divinity within themselves.

Welcome to the family.

Nicki Ashley is a graduate from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering-Natural Resources and Environmental Specialization. She has worked in the sustainable food industry for many years and has found a deep love for helping bring organic, locally-sourced foods to those who often don’t have access. Her experience with OCD and chronic illness has led her to discovering new ways of what it means to truly be healthy. Nicki’s wellness journey has cultivated her passion for understanding of Self and surrendering to all that life is.

Lauren McKenna has a background in personal training, corrective exercise, trigger point therapy, and stretch therapy. Through her own experience with anxiety and chronic pain, she developed a deep appreciation for the body's innate intelligence and ability to heal. She is now a 9D Breathwork and somatic facilitator. Her work centers on creating safe, supportive spaces where the body can lead its own healing, release what it no longer needs to hold, and return to a natural state of flow.

Now that we got the professionalism out of the way…

Who are we really?

Nicki lives in LA and spends most days playing volleyball. She is the most stereotypical blonde you will meet- Lauren often reminds her to filter thoughts before saying them. She goes to YeeDM (EDM/country) concerts. Our family has nicknamed her “Large Mammal”.

Lauren lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her two cats. She attributes a great majority of her healing to Marijuana and Ayahuasca. She speaks fluent sarcasm and her greatest passion is smoking and dancing in the dark.

Nicki is the grounding that stabilizes Lauren, and Lauren is the ascension that enlivens Nicki.
